Isabella DiLisio is an accomplished amateur golfer from the Philadelphia area and currently the Club Champion at Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown, PA. She played college golf at the University of Notre Dame from 2015-2019 and graduated with a degree in Business Analytics. During her 4 years at Notre Dame, she started in every tournament and received WGCA (Women’s Golf Coach Association) All-American Scholar honors each year.
Isabella has been working with Lou Guzzi since she was 12 years old. They have spent countless hours working on her swing, having putting and chipping contests, drinking coffee, laughing at her parents’ voices in the background of swing videos, and just talking about life and golf. They have developed a bond and friendship over the years that is invaluable.
Isabella was a member of Team USA in the 2015 Toyota Junior Golf World Cup, which was hosted in Japan. Isabella helped lead the team to a 4th place finish.
In her high school years, Isabella attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, PA, where she was the PIAA State Champion both individually and with her MSJA team in 2013. She was the first golfer in PIAA history to win both the individual and team titles in the same year, which led to her being named the first female Times Herald Golf Athlete of the Year in 2013.
Isabella also has a connection to one of the greatest moments in golf history. Her Great Grandfather, Nick Ciocca, was the caddy for Ben Hogan at the 1950 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club. Upon returning to golf after a near-fatal car accident, Hogan played through the pain and hit the famous 1-iron shot on the 18th hole at Merion to force a playoff, which he ended up winning. Isabella’s Great Grandfather handed Hogan that 1-iron and would have been standing just outside of the frame of the famous photograph that now hangs in millions of homes.
